Mr. John Hill states:
"Marvellous to see this old cap, especially as I was distantly
related to the captain of the South African team in 1891: my gt.gt
grandmother was a CASTENS, and Herbert Hayton CASTENS was her nephew: almost certain his cap got lost/destroyed as time went by, as he died a lonely man and was buried in an unmarked grave in East Sheen cemetery, Kew in 1929: this 1st Test in 1891 was his only cap, but it is probably unique that he refereed the 3rd Test in that series: I wish I could get old of a genuine
1891 cap !!!!!!"
