England International Football Cap Geoff Hurst's blue World Cup 1966 International cap, representing the matches against Argentina, Portugal and West Germany. The above cap represents the three games played by Geoff Hurst during the historic World Cup Tournament of 1966. In the quarter-final match played on 23rd July 1966 before 90,584 spectators, England defeated Argentina 1-0, with Hurst scoring the only goal of the game. In the semi-final match played on 26th July 1966 before 94,493 spectators, England defeated Portugal 2-1. In the final played on 30th July 1966 before 96,924 spectators, England won the World Cup for the first and so far only time defeating West Germany 4-2 after extra time. Without doubt the man-of-the-match was the hat-trick hero Hurst. Sold at auction for £37,600. (c)
